Pearson is an assessment tool that supports early childhood educators in observing, assessing and tracking the development of children based on observations. Pearson has two assessment tools designed for children in different age groups:
-
The Ounce Scale, which provides a structure for assessing the development of children from birth to 3 ½ years of age.
-
The Work Sampling System that allows teachers to evaluate the skills of children age 3-9.
Once this framework has been implemented into your center, you can add, edit, remove, and view the developmental assessment reports needs for each child. Curious to see how this will look in action? View our pre-recorded webinar here.
You can access the report from each child's profile by simply clicking on 'Development Assessment Reports'.

From the Developmental Assessment Overview page you can:

After creating a new assessment, you can:

-
Click the appropriate bubble to indicate if the skill is "Not Developed" (ND) or "Developed As Expected" (DAE).
-
Add or edit a comment for each skill.
-
Navigate to the Developmental Evidence page to see the specific domains, skills, and indicators you've added to this child's profile to document their learning and development.
