Below is a step-by-step guide on how to record naps entries as well as sleep checks.
Note: Typically naps are hidden in the daily report from parents as this can be a busy time for educators to make updates and ensure accuracy. However, a director can edit the center settings (on the Logins & Configurations page) so the naps are shown in real-time for families.
Best Practices: We recommend adding the sleep time as the children are falling asleep. You can change the time that the children fell asleep but remember to ensure the start and end time are the same. Keep the tablet in an area that you can easily access with the "edit reports" page open so when the children wake up you can quickly record their wake up time with a couple of taps!
Step 1:
As the children fall asleep, select the children from the "Add Updates" page and ensure the start and end time match the time the children fell asleep and that the start and end time are the same time. You can tap the -5, -10 etc buttons if you'd like to quickly subtract 5 minutes from the current time for this update.
Step 2: Continue tapping the necessary children as they are falling asleep. Remember, navigate to the "edit report screen" (pencil and paper icon) after each nap is recorded so when the children wake up you can quickly record when they wake up!
Step 3: As the children wake up, tap the red "0h00" beside each child's name on the Edit Reports page (pencil and paper icon). The system will automatically calculate how long the child slept for.
Step 4: You can select if the child woke up now, 5 mins ago, 10 mins ago etc and also edit their nap time.
Step 5 (optional): If it's required by your ministry, you can record sleep checks (typically done every 30 minutes or 1 hour as set out by your state/provincial standards. Directors can print these reports from the director dashboard)
Just tap the "sleep check" box every 30 mins, 1 hr, etc. to record a sleep check.

Hi there,
Is there a way for parents to be able to see the naps in real time? As it seems that they do not get an update on their child's nap times until after the report has been sent.
Thanks!
Hi Curious Caterpillars - Petman
Absolutely! Typically naps and meals are hidden through out the day. We know that nap and meal time can be a busy time and to avoid any mistakes we hide this information as a default until the end of the day daily report.
That being said, you have the option to un-hide this information.
Click into "Logins & Configurations" > Classroom Settings > "Real-time naps & meals" (check this box if you want this info shown).
